SOME THOUGHTS ON WEIGHT LOSS.
The odds tend to be against us. As we get older our metabolism often slows just when the demands of life make it harder for us to be active. Starting our families and our careers our lives get busier and we often end up sitting at a desk. We spend more hours of the day driving than we ever thought possible.
It doesn’t happen overnight, it just happens. We get a little out of shape and then slowly we get a little more out of shape. A few pounds year after year and suddenly we don’t recognize who we have become. Our bodies, and our life, change.
So here we are. Years later trying to find a solution to drop the excess pounds that hold us back from not only looking the way we want, but more importantly, feeling good about ourselves. And if we don’t feel good about our bodies, it’s hard to show up at the gym or get out there and go for a jog. It’s a catch-22.
The real issue, and we all know it, is that being overweight, not exercising and not taking care of our bodies can lead to much, much worse things.
Change is an uphill climb, no matter where you start. But nowthere is help. We believe not only that you can do it, but you should do it, for yourself, and for all the days in front of you and all of those possibilities. It’s not about how you got here. It’s done. It’s behind you. It is about today, and tomorrow.
Don’t worry, not every day will be a win and that’s ok. You didn’t get here overnight, and change doesn’t happen overnight, and definitely not without its ups and downs. Embrace the ups and downs, both are progress. Let’s get started, let’s RISE and see what you can do. A little each day. RISE a half hour early and don’t take the walk, just be up. Next week, take a walk - 15 minutes. That’s progress. That is how we RISE, not instantly, but slowly and with grace.
